Healing.

You moved on really fast.
You always tried to cut me off.
So sad, I couldn’t read the signs.
My reign was so short.
Maybe 60 seconds max.
Hard to even remember you once called me King.
Hard to forget the days you would PING, PING and PING.
Now, a text back is luxury.

Peace used to live in our hearts.
Before it became a civil war whenever we saw.
Putting the blame on me is now a norm.
Our love has become dormant.
No emotions to keep it running.
Just bad energy!

What of the future plans we made?
Did you bid goodbye to all those?
Memories won’t fade though.
Just when it was getting started, you quit!
Rather than love yours, you stayed making comparisons.
To you, I was always a suspect.
You loved to beat yourself up a lot.

Every time you got pissed, you tossed your lighter.
We had dreams of a brighter future.
We expected to lose some and win some.
For now, I think we lost it all.
Pride got the better of us.
Humility ran across the road.
We talked a lot but planned just too little.
Though too late, now we know better.

  1. i Love Love how this piece effortlessly manages to make me think its content may be lost lyrics that fit somewhere in “DON’T MIND IF I DO”; my favorite album from CULTURE CLUB.

    • I DON’T EVEN KNOW ‘CULTURE CLUB’ BUT I WILL CHECK THEM OUT.
