Refresh Your Playlist

Here are a few Nigerian songs that should definitely make it to your playlist this new week.

Chike – Amen

The Voice and Project Fame alumnus, Chike has blessed us with a love song and beautiful visuals for it. The video features Timi Dakolo, Chibbz and Chy Nwakanma.

I see this one making your wedding playlist.

Efe – SCAMMER ft. Tulenkey

Big Brother Naija alumnus, Efe got something going for him here. ‘Scammer’ is easy to sing along to and is quite relatable. A good verse from Ghanaian rapper, Tulenkey gives the song an extra lift.

Joeboy – Beginning

If you thought Joeboy’s smash hit – Baby was a fluke, well you have been proved wrong. The emPawa beneficiary has found a winning formula and stuck with it. The result? Another hit!

For ‘Beginning’, he joins forces with producer, KillerTunes. After a successful visualizer for ‘Baby’ which has over 7 million views currently, it was only natural the services of Poka Studios was required again.

Picazo – Pray For Me

Life after YBNL has begun for Picazo. It hasn’t started badly though. The rapper has delivered a decent song which will leave you feeling pity and probably offering intercessory prayers on his behalf.

Yung L – Aye

It is no longer news that Yung L is underrated. What’s new is that he seems to even improve with every new release. With the right push, ‘Aye’ could become a classic.

Lovely visuals for a solid song from an OG.

Otega – Bless Me

This honest conversation between Otega and God makes for a good listen. Recommended for regular listens especially on Sunday mornings.

Kolaboy & Wonder J – Collect

I think Kolaboy will be around for a long long time. Listening to the Mark Angel Family rapper switch his flows from Igbo to Pidgin English and back to Igbo is theraupetic.

Kudos to Wonder J for a memorable hook.

Tems – Try Me

The evolution of Tems Baby is being televised, don’t be caught sleeping. That shy babe who sings effortlessly with such a unique and beautiful voice is evolving into a top top artiste.

Great to hear and see a fierce Tems in ‘Try Me’, she is matching the fierce voice in every way possible.
